Earth Fare is truly best for grass fed beef. On Saturday, 2/9/26, they were briefly closed due to power outage in the area and Angela kindly took my order for the meat department and texted it over. I came back later and picked up - so easy! Thank you Angela, and the rest of the team, for excellent customer service!

Iβve shopped at Earth Fare in Roanoke for years and hate leaving negative reviews, but the customer service and management seem to have declined significantly lately. Over the past few months Iβve had multiple pricing and discount errors, including being denied a Monday discount I had always previously received. When I tried to get it corrected, I was kept waiting while employees repeatedly said the manager βdidnβt have timeβ to help. More recently, sale items have been rung up incorrectly, and instead of simple customer service, the attitude has been dismissive and argumentative. Even basic things like bagging groceries carefully have become inconsistent, with bananas and tomatoes placed on the bottom of bags with heavy items on top, which suggests employees are not being properly trained. Mistakes happen anywhere, but whatβs disappointing is the lack of professionalism and concern when customers try to resolve them. As a longtime customer, the store no longer feels as well managed as it once did.

I REALLY want to support this store but compared with the Roanoke CoOp, their prices are outrageous and the signage is poor. The biggest negative, however, is the Staffβ¦.generally not friendly at all, certainly not eager to help. It was raining today; Iβm handicapped so returning a shopping cart is often a chore. An employee was outside collecting carts and I asked her to take mine. She refused and gestured towards the cart stand. So rude.

I have significant concerns about the food safety in the custom foods area. I went to Earth Fare today and ordered a caprese sandwich, the top option on the TV menu. It showed that it would be hot unless ordered cold, and I ordered it hot. Multiple people seemed a bit confused but worked through it and the woman I originally talked to was very friendly. This was all not a huge deal, though it took a while. However, while watching them make the order, I saw multiple people touching things they shouldn't be with gloves. The worst was when the man making my sandwich placed it by gloved hand into the pizza oven, closed the oven door, then pulled his PHONE out of his pocket with a gloved hand. He also accepted lemons from someone outside the area, then touched my sandwich with the same gloves. I interrupted him and asked him to change gloves, which he did, while saying nothing. I have a medical condition in which food safety is very important, and the lack of care and respect for others' well-being is incredibly disappointing. Basic food safety is NOT difficult and can truly prevent someone from getting sick.

This is an outstanding grocery store. Yes it can be a little expensive but you get what you pay for. The food quality for vegetables and fruits is very good. The items that they stock are all delicious wonderful healthy foods. They have a whole area that you can get your cereal seeds and nuts dispensed as you wish. All their fresh foods and homemade foods are ready to eat on the other side of the grocery store. They check you out and bag up your items appropriately. Overall this is a fine place to get high quality foods. Right beside the parking lot is an electric car power station. Couldn't be happier. π If you enjoy my reviews please give me a thumbs up and feel free to follow me for constructive reviews.
